Bobbington Parish Council

 MINUTES of the Annual General Meeting of Bobbington Parish Council held on Thursday 18th May at 7.30 p.m. in the Village Hall.

 PRESENT:  Councillors:  Mrs.D.Kellett, N.Jones, T.Rees, W.J.Snelson, Mrs.J.Tudor.

1.  APOLOGIESCouncillors D.Kimbley  and M.Vickers.  Mrs. K. Hampton.

2.  DECLARATIONS OF INTEREST:  there were none.

3.  PRESENTATION OF CITIZEN OF THE YEAR AWARD  Mary Haughtey was unable to attend and the presentation would be made by the Chairman at a convenient time for her.  An additional award was presented to the Clerk comprising a framed certificate, flowers and a cheque for £25 to mark 20 years of service to the Parish Council.

4.  ELECTION OF CHAIRMAN  The Clerk asked for nominations for Chairman.  Councillor Rees was proposed by Cllr. Snelson and seconded by Cllr.Mrs.Kellett.  There being no further nominations Councillor Rees was re-elected.

5.  ELECTION OF OFFICERS:

Vice-Chairman – Cllr. Jones was proposed by Cllr. Mrs. Kellett and with no further nominations was re-elected.

Cheque signatories - Agreed to remain as Cllr.Snelson, Cllr.Kimbley and Cllr.Mrs.Tudor. 

Wolverhampton Business Airport Consultative Committee – Cllr.Kimbley was nominated by Cllr.Snelson in his absence, the appointment to be confirmed at the next meeting.

Village Hall Committee – Cllr.Mrs.Kellett agreed to continue.

Corbett School Representative – Karin Hampton had indicated she would be prepared to continue in this role and this was accepted and agreed. 

Trustee of the Fanny Wright Gatacre Charity – Cllr.Snelson agreed to continue.

Responsible Financial Officer – Clerk agreed to continue.

Internal Auditor – Bill Hayhurst was nominated to continue with unanimous agreement.  Clerk to write an appropriate letter and it was decided to present him with a gift.

Tree Warden – Cllr.Mrs. Kellett agreed to continue.

Health Authority Representative – Chairman agreed to continue.

Police Authority Representative – In his absence, it was proposed that Cllr. Vickers continue.

6.  MINUTES of the last Annual General Meeting were signed having been previously circulated and approved.

7.  ANY OTHER BUSINESS  Mrs. Karin Hampton had presented, in her absence, her Annual School Report which was read out by the Chairman.  Cllr.Snelson added that the school is setting a first class standard and gave particular thanks to Cllr. Jones for his help.

8.  DATE OF NEXT ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING already arranged for 16th May 2007.
