Parish CouncilMINUTES of the Annual Parish Meeting of Bobbington Parish Council held on Wednesday 20th April 2005 in the Schoolroom at 7.30 p.m.
PRESENT: Councillor T.Rees (Chairman); Councillors: Mrs. D.Kellett, D.Kimbley, N. Jones, Mrs. J.Tudor, M. Vickers. Mrs K.Hampton, Corbett School representative, and one parishioner.
2. MINUTES: The Minutes of the last Annual Parish Meeting had previously been approved and signed.
3. CHAIRMAN’S REPORT The Chairman gave his Annual Report a copy of which is filed in the Minute Book.
4. CORBETT SCHOOL REPORT presented by Mrs. Karin Hampton, a copy in the Minute Book.
5. VILLAGE HALL REPORT to be deferred until the next Meeting.
6. HOLY CROSS CHURCH REPORT presented by the Clerk, copy in the Minute Book.
7. CIVIC AWARD The Chairman presented a certificate and a cheque for £50 to the four members of Bobbington Elderly People’s Welfare Committee. He said the Parish Council wanted to acknowledge people in the village who work hard helping others, often with little reward. The four committee members, Janet Bill, Joyce Round, Brenda Taylor and Gladys Thornes were also each presented with a bouquet of flowers by the Chairman.
8. INSPECTOR P. SHANNAGHAN, WOMBOURNE POLICE Inspector Shannaghan was present with two colleagues to introduce himself to the Parish Council, although he said he had worked in this area in the past. He is aware of current issues especially the speeding problem through the village, incidents can be reported and the police will respond, even at night a presence can be provided to deter speeding. The contact number is 08453 30 20 10. They have five 999 vehicles covering the area from Codsall to Kinver and aim for a response time of up to 20 mins.
The Chairman thanked the Inspector very much for sparing the time to come along and hoped they would make a return visit in a few months.
