- MNG Milanco 6 Wombourne Olympic Colts 1
Marshall
This was always going to be a hard match for Wombourne against the current division leaders, but they fought hard and put up a magnificent show. MNG took the lead in the 17th minute following a break down the right wing and scored a second 3 minutes later when Yates, in goal, failed to see the shot coming. Wombourne were very slack at the back for the third goal and failed to close down a player who had so much time, he could place the shot wherever he wanted to and a fourth came on the stroke of half time from a set piece corner. Milanco controlled the second half, netting in the 60th and 72nd minutes to seal the game, but Wombourne fought hard and thoroughly deserved their consolation goal scored my Marshall in the last minute of the game.
Man of the Match: Alex Marshall. Worked tirelessly and was unfortunate not to score more than the one goal.

- Sedgley West 1 Wombourne Olympic Colts 2
Walton, Dhanda
Wombourne were slow to get started and Sedgley capitalised on this when Yates had no chance of stopping a well taken shot in the seventh minute which went in off the crossbar. The game continued in an evenly matched manner with Yates keeping Wombourne in the game with a number of excellent saves. A prolonged spell of bombarding the Sedgley goal paid off in the 24th minute when Walton's shot was parried by the keeper, but he did not give up and slotted in the rebound leaving the score even at half time. Wombourne totally controlled the second half, with some excellent hard tackling and superb passing. Dhanda scored a well deserved goal in the 50th minute although there was some discussion as to whether the ball actually crossed the line as it bounced down off the crossbar, but the referee gave the decision in Wombourne's favour. Wombourne could easily have scored many more but for some good defending by the home team, the best chance being where Toland rose up only to hit the crossbar with a great header.
Man of the Match: Elliott Yates. Despite having little to do in the second half, kept Wombourne in the game during the first half with some magnificent saves.

- Wombourne Olympic Colts 1 Wordsley West 4
George
Playing into a strong wind for the first half, the wind was the only real difference between the two teams. Wombourne had a corner 2 minutes into the game where Toland got his head to the cross only to see the ball go inches over the crossbar. Wordsley then pressed and it took Nouri to clear the ball off the line to prevent them taking an early lead. However a corner was awarded soon after which the wind carried making it easy for the visitors to put in to take the lead. The match was then very even until a well taken shot put Wordsley 2-0 in front in the 35th minute. Four minutes into the second half, Wombourne were caught napping as Wordsley easily beat the defence to get their third goal and 5 minutes later they broke from the back to make it 4. Max George got a consolation goal for the home side in the 72nd minute having only been on the pitch less than 5 minutes when he tapped in a goal mouth scramble.
Man of the Match: Mojtaba Nouri. For the second week running was the teams inspiration, tackling hard and controlling the midfield.
25 October 2009 - Corinthians 2 Wombourne Olympic Colts 0
A poor game of football with little action which was not helped by consistent stopping and starting of the game by the referee at the slightest incident. The two teams cancelled each other out for most of the first half with neither keeper having much to do. Wombourne's best chance came in the 35th minute when Marshall beat late tackles from the opposition defence leaving him one on one with the keeper. However, once again the referee refused to play the advantage and awarded a free kick which Stan Howells failed to put away. The second half was very similar to the first although Corinthians managed to score 2 goals to take the 3 points.
Man of the Match: Mojtaba Nouri. Worked tirelessly, controlling everything in midfield.

- Wombourne Olympic Colts 3 Sedgley West 1
Marshal (2), S Howell
On a day where a number of players were unavailable, Wombourne would have been forgiven for thinking they would be in for a difficult game. However, straight from the start the team gelled and showed a determination in their play. Crisp passing through the midfield and regular movement down the wings from Butler and Walton were followed by a chorus of calls from players eager for a pass. Stan Howell slipped past his marker following a pass from Butler and promptly cracked a shot from outside the box into the top left corner in the 3rd minute. As Marshall picked the ball up from the back of the net we all knew that he would be looking to get the next goal.
Sedgley suffered a barrage of attacks as Wombourne surged forward looking for more. It wasn’t long before Howell fired another shot towards goal hitting the post with the resulting rebound smashed into the back of the net by Marshall in the 8th minute. Sedgley looked shell shocked and following a couple of substitutions started to attack the Wombourne back four. After a series of corners, the ball dropped outside the box and was lobbed back to the top left corner heading for goal, but Elliott ‘ the cat ‘ leapt up, reached and pushed it away for a corner. Unfortunately, this corner resulted in Sedgley gaining a goal in the 32nd minute, after which Dhanda was heard calling for more from the lads and they responded with a firm defence for the rest of the half.
As the second half started the team having listened to the manager held firm in defence. Nouri dropped back into a defensive midfield position and Wombourne started to catch Sedgley on the break with regular sorties from Walton down the right wing. Wombourne started to control the game in the middle cutting out the supply to the Sedgley strikers, other than on one occasion where Toland came to the rescue with a lunging tackle clearing the ball but getting injured in the process.
Great footwork from Nouri weaving round two players to pass to Louis Howell was then threaded through to Marshall who promptly wrapped the game up with a goal in the 50th minute. Looking for a hat rick Marshall shot later from outside the box clipping the cross bar following a fingertip save from the keeper. Tollnd headed just wide of the post from a resulting corner and thereafter Wombourne looked in control of the game and well worth the win
Man of the Match: Louis Howell. Worked hard throughout the game making it impossible for Sedgley to do anything in midfield.
11 October 2009 - Forest Falcons NSC 4 Wombourne Olympic Colts 0
The match was played on a bright sunny afternoon with the Colts working hard, defending well and passing the ball confidently through the midfield. Falcons managed a number of attacking moves down the Colts left side with good saves coming from Yates in Goal. Alex Marshall and Stan Howell had three chances on goal and following an excellent free kick from Louis Howell nearly scored with Marshall just heading wide of the post. Falcons attacked once again down the left side and would have scored had Nick Chwiej not sprinted across the back line and intercepted with a timely tackle in the box. In the 37th minute however Falcons finally broke through down the left with their striker smashing their shot just past the goalkeeper.
The weather changed quite significantly in the second half with high gusts of wind making defending difficult. Dan Mossey, Stan Howell and Moji Nouri combined impressively to allow Marshall to break through and just shoot above the cross bar. Falcons increased the pressure during the second half and the back line kept their shape and defended resolutely until Toland got injured landing awkwardly after being fouled whilst jumping to head a ball clear. Falcons took the advantage and scored their second goal in the 60th minute, and followed up again with a loose cross which bounced passed the defenders into the goal in the 68th. Yates provided possibly the save of the season with a dive down to his left to clear a glancing header from a Falcons defender. However even with some brave defending from Christian Mossey putting his body in front of a shot to block an attack Falcons finished the day off with a fourth goal in the 77th minute.
On another day Wombourne could have took something from the game, however it was not to be. The Referee pointed out that it was a pleasure to referee the players and match and that the team were a credit to the management and coaching staff.
Man of the Match: Nick Chwiej. Some spectacular saving tackles and solid defending.

- Wombourne Olympic Colts 1 Pensnett West 5
Marshall
A poor first half by the home side made it easy for Pensnett to take all 3 points from this game. Despite some good saves from Lincoln in goal and some excellent challenges from Hubbard and Toland in defence, Pensnett undertook attack after attack and were 4-0 up at the break with Wombourne hardly having a shot on goal. Wombourne improved in the second half with a more settled formation and had many more chances to score. However, Pensnett netted their fifth before Wombourne pulled one back with a splendid free kick from Dan Mossey which Alex Marshall rose up to head home. The second half was much more even than the first but by then the damage had been done.
Man of the Match: Ryan Toland. Superb at the back, clearing many challenges without whom, could have made the score very embarrassing.

- Hasbury Rangers 5 Wombourne Olympic Colts 3
Marshall (3)
Watching this game, you would find it hard to believe that it was between the top and bottom teams of the division as it was very even from start to finish. Wombourne opened the scoring in the 12th minute with Marshall easily going round the keeper to pass the ball into the net. Eleven minutes later, Hasbury pulled level, but Marshall scored again in the 34th minute once again putting the visitors in the lead. Three minutes before the break, Hasbury were on target again to put the scores level at half time. Hasbury took the lead for the first time15 minutes after the break, but Marshall soon put away his third to make the score even again. It wasn't until five minutes from time that Hasbury took the lead again and then, a minute later, Elliott Yates brought down an Hasbury striker in the box giving the referee little alternative but to give a penalty. This was then slotted away to make the final score 5-3.
Man of the Match: Alex Marshall. Firing on all cylinders, the Hasbury defence had no answer to his skill and persistence as he made his hat-trick.

- Wombourne Olympic 2 Wombourne Olympic Colts 1
Marshall
Despite two yellow cards for the home team, this hard fought local derby was a good clean game of football which both sides were up to win. The colts opened the scoring after 18 minutes with a well taken shot from Alex Marshall. The colts continued to dominate much of the first half with three close shots, one of which hit the cross bar in the space of as many minutes, however, the home side scored a goal mouth scramble seconds before the half time whistle to make the score 1-1 at the interval. The second half was similar to the first with both sides having chances although the home side probably had the edge and confirmed this by scoring the winning goal in the 56th minute.
Man of the Match: Louis Howell. Battled hard for the whole 80 minutes winning the ball on a number of occasions.
13 September 2009
- Norton JFC 11 Wombourne Olympic Colts 1
Marshall
A very poor performance by Wombourne in which the home team totally dominated the game from start to finish. Bad defending and lack of discipline gifted Norton goal after goal in the first half to lead 5-0 at half time. Playing downhill the second half, you may have expected Wombourne to get back into the game but they were unable to keep their shape and conceded 6 more goals before Howell and Hubbard combined to set up Marshall for a late consolation goal.
Man of the Match: Ryan Hubbard. The best of a bad lot who kept fighting to retrieve the game to no avail.
06 September 2009 - Wombourne Olympic Colts 0 MNG Milanco 4
This was a very even game in which Wombourne put up a very positive performance despite missing some of their key players. Wombourne were unfortunate to concede a goal from a Milanco corner in the seventh minute and had a number of changes themselves before half time. The second half was very similar to the first with both sides having a number of chances foiled by superb goalkeeping at both ends. Milanco got their second 8 minutes into the half and their third 10 minutes later, both well taken, leaving Lincoln very little chance. An unfortunate own goal from Khumb gave the visitors their fourth and despite Yates, Marshall and Chris Mossey having great chances, Wombourne were unable to pull one back.
Man of the Match: Ryan Toland. Super at the back, clearing everything that came near him.
23 August 2009 -
Wombourne Olympic Colts 3 Pensnett West 6
Hubbard, Walton, Marshall
Wombourne started this game in their old style of kick and rush with little structure, but after conceding 2 goals in the first 19 minutes, they settled down to a much more disciplined approach. Unfortunately a 23rd minute penalty was awarded to the away team which, although Lincoln got a hand to it, finished in the back of the net making it 3-0. Wombourne then broke well though Marshall and Hubbard was on hand to pull a goal back from a great pass from Marshall. Pensnett then went on to score a fourth before the break. Wombourne came out to the second half with a positive frame of mind and soon pulled another goal back as Walton tapped home a superb cross from Marshall. Pensnett responded swiftly with another goal 2 minutes later which was quickly countered by a solo goal from Marshall as he rounded the keeper and neatly put the ball in the net. The visitors then went on to score one more making the final score 3-6.
Man of the Match: Alex Marshall. Two superb assists followed by a goal himself showed him as a force to be reckoned with.
